Cricket Championship
Of all the major sports currently being played around the world, cricket might be one of the lesser-known or perhaps lesser understood but Cricket Championship is here to help. The official sport is older than many of us might believe and there are a lot of rules to keep in mind considering all the different players and equipment that are in play. However, the main part of the game involves one team throwing a hard ball and the other team trying to hit it far so that they can try to score points. It can take a few views before you understand what's going on, but just remember to stay on the ball as that is generally a good thing.
About Cricket Championship
The average person you talk to likely won't have seen a cricket game and that's why there aren't many big-name video games based on it. This game is an attempt to take the bog sport and shrink it down for flash enjoyment and some mobile access. From looking at the visuals and reading, you can get a sense of what you need to do and then realize that you need to play around with the different positions to have the desired effects. You may lose a few games but that's just preparing you to win.
How to Play
Cricket Championship is a 2D sports game based on cricket that has you batting using only the mouse. You can use the cursor to navigate the onscreen UI and then control your batter using the Left Mouse Button. The yellow arrows on either side can be clicked to move your batter to the left or right. To swing in different ways, hold the button down and then drag either up, down, left, or right. Your goal is to hit the ball as far as possible in order to score points via runs.
You'll always be on the batting side after you choose which team you want to play as and against. When the game starts, a red reticle will appear on the ground which will indicate where the opposing team is planning to throw the ball. When the ball is thrown, you can swing at it when it gets in range to try and hit it far. If the ball doesn't travel far or is caught by the players behind, you won't get any points. If the ball hits the wicket (the poles behind the batter) this is considered an out. Get too many outs and the game is over.
Tips and Tricks
You really need to practice the timing of the swings and get a feel for the area of effect that you can reasonably hit the ball. It's worth it to play practice rounds just to observe how the ball moves and how your batter can swing. Try to keep the wicket blocked in one way or another.
