Racing itself is a daunting task since the faster you go, the more dangerous it gets and the harder the car becomes to control. By participating in these races, you need to be a master of control, turning, and timing since these are absolutely necessary to executing a quality drift. Keeping in mind that you have to maintain speed so that you don't fall behind the times makes this an exciting event to watch.
About Extreme Drift Racing
If you decide to join a race then you'll have to accept various risks and drift racing demands even more risks. This is a game about taking those risks and channeling them into the skillful driver that you know you can be… but in a digital sense. The tracks are long and large to provide you with plenty of space and turns to practice drifting and sliding all over the place. Make your mistakes, get a feel for the driving mechanics, and then work on finding the sweet spot for speed and control. Do this, and you'll be an extreme drift racer in no time at all.
How to Play
Extreme Drift Racing is a 3D racing game with drifting that you can play with the keyboard.
Controls
- W/Up Arrow - Accelerate
- S/Down Arrow - Reverse
- A/Left Arrow - Turn Left
- D/Right Arrow - Turn Right
- Spacebar - Brake
- Shift - Use Nitro
- C - Change Camera Perspective
On the main menu, you can choose to customize the appearance of your car including the tires and the smoke they make when drifting. There are additional car models to choose from, but these will cost coins that you can earn via playing. The goal of each race is to make laps around the track as fast as possible while also earning as much from drifting as possible.
When the race starts, you can begin driving along the track as you wish. It will turn and bend which will give you opportunities to drift. You'll know when a drift has been initiated due to smoke coming from the tires, the sound of screeching, and the drift meter appearing above the car. The longer you're able to maintain the drift, the higher your score will go. If you spin out or lose speed, you can use Nitro to boost yourself as long as you have fuel in the tank shown on the right side of the screen. Nitro will replenish over time.
The score you get from drifting translates to drift coins which will accumulate in the top left part of the screen. When you have enough coins, you can buy new car models with the lowest price starting at 3000.
Tips and Tricks
No matter what car you're driving, drifting is tricky business and you should always prioritise control over speed. You can drift either using the brake or by turning against the direction in which the car is sliding. If you press too hard, you'll lose control and come to a stop.
