Falling Balls
Despite all our efforts to defy the laws of physics, gravity governs us all and is necessary to play the game Falling Balls. The title gives away what you can expect from playing and that's a lot of the surprise taking away. The real surprise comes when you're playing the game and trying to figure out why these balls are falling and what they're falling through to get to their end goal. Gravity does a big part of the job, but the balls rely on you for guidance and direction to reach the end safely and together. Have a ball and fall.
About Falling Balls
So many games incorporate balls in some way and there are quite a few where balls are the star and at times the main character. This game doesn't have animated balls going on an adventure and in a sense, the main character is you. The balls depend on gravity to fall but they won't fall properly unless you make sure of that. There's some thought to be put into the organization and herding of balls into the right spaces so that they can reach a satisfying conclusion. The balls still need you to carve out the perfect path for them and the challenge is whether you can do it.
How to Play
Falling Balls is a 2.5 physics-puzzle game about getting balls to fall down a path created with the mouse. The balls are placed atop light material that can be removed by moving the cursor over it and pressing the Left Mouse Button. This will create a circular carving in the material and you can drag while holding the Left Mouse Button to create a continuous carving. The goal is to get as many balls as you can to the container at the bottom.
The number of balls you start with at the top changes with each level. As you maneuver the balls through the level, you can guide them toward other groups of balls which will change color once collected. The levels can also have obstacles and other elements in play to change how the balls move. These can be objects like solid ramps or platforms that can't be removed. There can also be moving objects that can jostle and break up the group of balls.
As you get to the bottom of the level, you may encounter a narrowing passage that the balls need to fall through to reach the container. Once any amount of balls touches the container, the level is complete. You'll be rewarded points based on how many balls made it to the end. The points are converted into cash which can be spent on new ball skins. Completing achievements will also net you extra cash.
Tips and Tricks
The balls are very bouncy so even the slightest movement can cause them to fly all over the place. There's no harm in carving out a path section by section, especially when objects can separate the balls from each other. Do your best to have them all move as one as best as you can.
