Mineblock Hook Adventure
Minecraft exploded not only on the internet but across the gaming scene with many folks taking the style and assets to make games like Mineblock Hook Adventure. It has you playing as the base avatar body Steve who seems to have lost his body. The good news is that he's managed to find a way to survive by transforming his head into a ball that can bounce off numerous terrains. His head also has the power to attach to scattered nodes so that he can swing his way to a body which can be found at a nicely built home at the end of the trail.
About Mineblock Hook Adventure
There's no evidence that Minecraft will be disappearing any time soon and it still has quite the pull with visuals that can be easily adapted to multiple genres. There are many casual Minecraft games and this is one of them. Despite the cartoon appearance of Minecraft, it can be quite stressful with zombies, skeletons, spiders, and creepers that can appear suddenly and destroy everything you've worked to achieve. Here, you're just swinging freely but with some direction to guide a lost head back home. It's an aerial puzzle that needs the right movements to get Steve's head to wherever you need it to go.
How to Play
Mineblock Hook Adventure is a 2D swinging game that can be played using just the mouse. By clicking the Left Mouse Button, the ball will attach a rope to the nearest node in range. You need to hold the button down to maintain the swing and then release it to detach the rope. The goal of each level is to swing the head to the house at the far end of the level. If the headstalls out or falls off the screen, then you'll need to restart the level.
The levels start out pretty short and contained with the main assets being nodes, wooden barriers, and terrain platforms. The nodes are scattered in the air and can be attached to if there's a dotted circle around them. The wooden barriers act as obstacles that will block the ball and reduce its momentum. The terrain platforms act as springs which will launch the ball quite high whenever it comes into contact with them.
This game uses physics mechanics, mainly gravity and momentum. Swinging and bouncing from falls is the only way to build speed. There's also a chance that the ball will bounce wildly when it hits the terrain.
Tips and Tricks
Since this is all about swinging, you'll want to attach ropes as the ball is falling or launching at top speed. You'll want to time it so that the fall or launch can smoothly transition into a swing, but be careful not to disconnect too late or you'll lose your momentum.
