Motorcycles are super dangerous but they're also super cool which is why we can't get enough games about them like Moto X3M. Like many motorcycle games, it's all about trying to look as awesome and radical as your can while not trying to end in a fiery exploding. It's a 2D level-based game where all you're doing is trying to get your rider to the end of the course. This means you'll have a need for speed as well as balancing in order to survive the various trials. While you're soaring through the air, you may as well try to risk a few tricks as well.
About Moto X3M
Extreme sports are popular for a reason and while a majority would never attempt them, games can give us a taste of the feeling. While not as extreme as reality, the game is manageable and entertaining as you go through the levels. The controls may be few, but using them effectively to actually get through levels, make tricks, and land safely, makes for a good challenge. For a method to pop in and get a brief feeling of extremeness, this game offers a good gateway. The sheer number of levels will also keep you quite busy.
How to Play
Moto X3M is restricted to only a few buttons on the keyboard. Depending on your playstyle, you'll have some options to control the bike.
Controls
- W/Up Arrow - Accelerate
- S/Down Arrow - Brake
- A/Left Arrow - Tilt Left
- D/Right Arrow - Tilt Right
- Spacebar - Reset Level
The goal of each level is to get the motorcycle (and rider) to the finish line at the end. The courses are full of ramps to send the rider soaring while hazards like spinning spikes will cause an instant wipeout on contact. When the rider is in the air, you can use the tilting to perform tricks and orient yourself for a safe landing. The tilting is also used to keep balance when on uneven terrain. If the rider's body or helmet comes into contact with the ground or some other obstacle, they'll wipe out. Depending on your completion time and a number of tricks, the level will reward you between one and three stars.
Tips and Tricks
The motorcycle is a very sensitive vehicle and the slightest element can affect its balance, so don't abuse the speed or tilt. Unless you've mastered timing, don't attempt tricks on every ramp as it might cause the head to hit hazards. Braking can be very handy in maintaining control, just make sure it's gradual as an instant stop can send the rider flying.
Moto X3M Bikes
Though the default rider looks the part, you can change the rider and bike by clicking the Bike icon at the top of the screen. Click the arrows to cycle through the selection of bikes and riders. You can unlock new ones by spending the shown number of stars which are earned from completing levels. Though they look very different, there are no stat changes between bikes or riders.
