Pudding Monsters
Pudding is delicious and, unfortunately, some cannot grasp its tasty power, but there are games like Pudding Monsters to help with that. Not really in the tasting sense, but in the sense that pudding is meant to make you feel happy and create a sense of fun. This is a game where you are literally playing with your food and that food is pudding. Somehow the pudding has come to life and though it may be monstrous, it simply wants to reunite with its pudding brethren. Who are you to stand in the way of putting pudding together? This is a chance to be sweet in a new way.
About Pudding Monsters
Puzzle games are not always the most appealing so some titles will use gimmicks like amusing designs or concepts to catch attention. This game does it pretty effectively by being about pudding creatures that are just happy to be on the table. They're quite cute and harmless which is why you need to help them move around. It seems that they feel the happiest when they're merged with other puddings and that's just fine. Too much pudding is never a bad thing… unless you overindulge, but sometimes you just need to treat yourself and this game will help you do that.
How to Play
Pudding Monsters is a top-down 2D puzzle game that uses sliding and tap mechanics that can work with the mouse. Use the cursor to navigate the UI and game screens and the Left Mouse Button to interact. Click it to tap on what you want to interact with and hold and drag to slide the puddings around. Pudding can only move in a straight line in one of the four primary directions. The goal of each level is to connect all of the pudding together, aiming to have them rest on star tiles for the best score.
Puddings spawn in set locations on each level. They can't move on their own which is why you need to slide them into each other. When a pudding hits another pudding, they combine but maintain their shape. Combined puddings can then be moved around as a whole. Puddings don't stop sliding until they hit a solid object or another pudding. The levels don't have borders which means that the puddings can slide off and if they do, you need to reset the level.
In addition to the random objects that can be placed to act as barriers, puddings themselves will also have different behaviors. Some will be obstacles such as sleeping puddings that can't be moved unless another pudding collides with them. Others will be beneficial like a pudding that creates a trail of sticky slime when it slides. As you progress, more pudding types will be introduced.
Tips and Tricks
This is a slow-paced puzzle game where all your pieces are sliding and combinations remind of Tetris blocks. Take the time to see what pudding types are in play as well as how many objects are available. The assets exist for a reason so make sure you're using them as creatively as possible to get those stars.
