Stickman Rope
The beauty of the stickman art style is that anyone can draw it to the point where it created a whole genre of art and gaming, hence Stickman Rope. The stickmen have always been the pawns of physics and started as pretty rigid beings before being given the same movement as ragdolls. This game is following the journey of a lone stickman as they swing over an endless chasm filled with rubbery platforms and swing points. The best you can do is help them swing away to safely reach the end of their journey in hopes of finding some solid ground.
About Stickman Rope
The stickman games are vintage Internet with the Xiao Xiao series and groups like Hyun's Dojo contributing a lot. Although Stickman Rope is separate from both, it has the same feeling as a goofy stickman animation and that's what makes it fun to play. You don't have a lot of controls to worry about so the gameplay can draw you in quickly. It's also quite a calming experience since it's about navigation through an open-air space with few assets to interact with per level. You never know what kind of arrangements you're going to encounter, but you can react just as fast to get through them.
How to Play
Stickman Rope is about swinging and bouncing. All is controlled with the mouse and you only have one action: Attach a rope. When pressing and holding the left mouse button, the stickman will attach a rope to the nearest swing point and if you let go of the left mouse button, the rope will detach and the stickman will fly or fall freely. Swing points appear as white dots and those in range with have a reticle around them.
The other objects in the levels are the platforms. These platforms are small and can be arranged in a number of forms like ramps and walls. Touching the light part of these platforms will cause the stickman to bounce while the darker side acts as a block.
Through a combination of swinging and bouncing, you need to get the stickman to the black-and-white finish line to the left or right of the screen. The level resets if the stickman falls too far past the bottom of the screen
Tips and Tricks
There's not much in terms of strategy since you can't plan for the arrangement that's going to come next. In terms of attaching ropes, try to do so at the peak of the stickman's current movement to gain swinging speed from falling. Additionally, detach the rope when the stickman's swing has the most velocity.
