Mickey Mouse has been a household name for almost a century now and the more time passes, the more we'll get to see him in adventures like Super Willie World. One of the earliest Mickey Mouse cartoons was Steamboat Willie in which the mouse is the captain of a steamboat merrily driving it along the river. However, he suddenly found himself in a platforming world and separated from his beloved boat. It's up to you to safely guide the lost mouse back to his boat while keeping him safe from all the various dangers along the way. Who is Willie without his Steamboat?
About Super Willie World
There have been official Mickey Mouse games throughout the years and the character seems suited to a platforming environment. Thus, this game gives us such an environment for a very specific kind of Mickey. He's got all the standard platforming abilities and is just as frail as other platforming heroes. Even so, he still has all the skills needed that you can control to get him from point A to point B. It moves at a slower pace to give you time to adjust and understand all of the rules in play so that you can beat the game casually.
How to Play
Super Willie World is a 2D platforming adventure following Willie the mouse back to his boat using the keyboard.
Controls
- W/Up Arrow - Jump
- S/Down Arrow - Drop
- A/Left Arrow - Move Left
- D/Right Arrow - Move Right
The goal is to help Willie reach the end of each level to board his steamboat safely. He only has one hit so contact with anything dangerous will instantly defeat him. The number of lives Willie has left is shown in the top left corner and if he loses all of them, you'll need to restart the level.
When you begin, you'll spawn on the far left side of the screen. You'll need to make your way to the right until you reach the banner at the end. As you play, you'll encounter blocks, moving platforming, pipes, and pits in the environment. Coins are scattered around and in blocks that you can jump into and collecting them will increase your skill. Enemies like snails will move around the stage and hazards like spikes will be planted in certain spots. Contact with any of them will cost Willie a life, however, certain enemies can be defeated by jumping on their heads.
Tips and Tricks
This platforming game moves slowly and there's no timer pushing you to move quickly, so take your time. Willie's jump can rise and fall gradually while his general walking pace is also slow. Use this to carefully examine upcoming sections so you prep your actions.
