Well, to be frank, you're only playing as one-half of the iconic cat-and-mouse duo. You are taking on the role of Jerry who is doing what he usually does and that is to try and get his hands on some cheese. Tons of it have been scattered all over the house, including the delicious red cheese. Still, the house is not a safe place for a mouse and Tom will be trying to catch Jerry so be on your toes.
About Tom & Jerry Mouse Maze
Mazes are a classic gameplay concept that has been incorporated since the very first dungeons were designed and also to test the intelligence of animals. This game isn't testing Jerry's actions in the maze, but instead your skills in terms of getting him safely around the area. The mazes are presented mainly in terms of how collectibles and hazards are arranged which changes the available routes to you. Creating a safe path while also making sure that Jerry isn't left vulnerable is the main challenge and you'll want to collect all of the cheese to truly defeat every level.
How to Play
Tom & Jerry Mouse Maze is a 2D top-down puzzle game about navigating Jerry around different parts of the house using the mouse. To create a path for Jerry, move the cursor over to him, hold the Left Mouse Button, and drag it to create a path. You can stop drawing by letting go and Jerry will gradually follow the path that has been laid out for him until it ends or it changes. The goal is to collect all of the red cheese and then guide Jerry to the mouse hole. All the cheese needs to be collected to get all stars and if Jerry is trapped or caught, you'll need to restart the level.
As Jerry progresses through the levels, more elements will be introduced. All of them will have cheese scattered throughout with the yellow cheese being optional. Jerry will soon have to deal with issues like traps, holes, and puddles that need to be avoided. There will also be Tom and his friends wandering around trying to catch Jerry. Objects like plants and vases can be used for hiding while collecting a pepper will give Jerry a speed boost. Green mouse holes will let Jerry move between them. If you can trick Tom into running into the wall, he'll be stunned briefly allowing you to run around safely.
Tips and Tricks
Tom and other wandering enemies are the biggest threats, but will only pursue Jerry if he's exposed in their line of sight. You can always trace a path with your cursor before you draw a path and mind Jerry's hitbox. Short paths will be key to avoiding and hiding from enemies.
