Truck Simulator
Driving is an ability that many people have but depending on the vehicle, it can be a whole other world for the average driver like in Truck Simulator. Despite some of the thoughts surrounding it, truck driving is a demanding yet lucrative job. Of course, it involves spending a lot of time on the road and working very long hours. In many ways, it's quite a lonely and independent life but people are willing to do it. You can see for yourself some of the difficulties they face as they navigate their large, heavy, and sensitive vehicles across narrow roads and through geographical obstacles.
About Truck Simulator
Simulator games are just that: Games that try to simulate a particular activity either extremely accurately or roughly to give a basic idea. This game is somewhere in the middle but likely leans toward the basic side considering the limited controls. Of course, this means that you can focus on the actual driving and challenges that come with trying to get a long truck around a single corner. It may be quite slow compared to other driving games, but it's still a driving game that has its associated techniques and culture around it. Some days you've just gotta keep on trucking.
How to Play
Truck Simulator is a 3D driving game about steering trucks over along difficult routes using the keyboard.
Controls
- W/Up Arrow - Accelerate
- S/Down Arrow - Brake/Reverse
- A/Left Arrow - Turn Left
- D/Right Arrow - Turn Right

- I - Start/Stop Engine
- K/L - Lights

The goal of each level is to drive the truck from the pickup area to the drop-off spot. You only have a limited amount of time as shown at the top of the screen. If the timer runs out or the truck flips, you'll need to restart the level.
You can choose from numerous trucks on the main menu, but you'll need to unlock new ones with cash earned from completing levels. After the level begins, you'll get a short cutscene showing the truck hooking up to the cargo. Once hooked, you'll be able to start driving and the path to your destination will be outlined with blinking arrow signs. There will also be obstacles to avoid such as other cards, rocks, and other road hazards.
Tips and Tricks
Despite how slow and heavy the truck may look and feel, it has a very delicate balance that needs to be maintained. If you ever approach a slope or an off-level area, make sure to drive carefully so that you don't lose control. If you do start to teeter, either power through or hold back.
