You are a zoo keeper who has encountered a zoo with some very unusual caretaking practices. It seems that all the animals are being stuffed together into a very confined space and they're being forced to become squares to fit together. They're not unhappy with each other, they just want more space and that's where you come in. Take it upon yourself to sort these animals out quickly and efficiently.

Matching games are a type of puzzle that anyone can understand after a short while which is why they have a mass appeal. This game is a traditional matching game but with the adorable guise of animals and all the flash to keep you entertained. Making matches feels very satisfying when you see all these sparkles and points fly up as more animals fall into place. You also get a lot of items that change how you can approach some of the more difficult arrangements. Still, there's time to enjoy all the colors and levels that this game has to offer while you're relaxing.
How to Play
Zoo Boom is a 2D matching puzzle game about sorting animals that you can play with just the mouse. The cursor is used to navigate the puzzle board while the Left Mouse Button can be clicked to select matches and activate power-ups. Certain power-ups will need to be moved with the cursor to where you want them. The goal of each level is to match the required animals and earn certain items in limited moves while getting as many points as possible to get the most stars.
When the level begins, you'll be presented with a board filled with animals. Different levels can have different shaped boards that will affect the arrangement and the influence of power-ups. To make a match, you simply need to click on an animal that is touching at least one other animal of the same type. When a match is made, all the same animals in contact will disappear and the other animal blocks will fall to fill the space. At times, animals will have symbols indicating certain power-ups and if those are matched, a power-up will spawn on the board.
Board power-ups can come in one of several varieties: A Bee, a Skunk, or a Wheel. The Bee will remove all animals in a vertical or horizontal row. A Skunk will remove a large chunk of animal blocks in a certain space. The Wheel will remove all animal blocks of the type that it indicates. You also have inventory power-ups in the forms of a Net, a Drill, a Rocket, and a Die. The Net can remove any one block. The Drill can remove an entire column moving downward. The Rock can remove an entire column from right to left. The Die can rearrange all the blocks. Inventory power-ups can be bought with coins and earned from chests.
By completing levels and matching certain blocks, you'll earn stars and coins. Levels and stars will unlock chests on the main menu that can contain power-ups and other rewards. Coins can be used to buy your own power-ups to take into levels with you.
Tips and Tricks
This is a matching game that wants you to take your time since the most valuable resource you have is your number of moves. Blocks won't automatically match themselves, so you need to decide which animal groups to remove first. Try to arrange larger groups as these are most likely to spawn power-ups.
