Toon Cup
We think that cartoons are only for children and many of them are but some of them remain relevant and it can be fun to see them playing together like in Toon Cup. When it comes to Cartoon Network shows, crossovers happen now and then so a universe where several different shows collide isn't inconceivable. What may be a bit harder to swallow is that they're all coming together to play a football tournament. But hey, stranger things have happened and probably will keep happening. Pick your cast of characters, head out to the field, and kick the ball around.
About Toon Cup
Whether or not you're familiar with Cartoon Network, you can tell from the characters just what kind of experience you can expect. This game is all about several different shows coming together and sending the best they have to offer to the field. Even though there's not much character interaction, their stats serve to show you just what kinds of characters they are. It's fun to play around with different combinations, finding that perfect balance for a game-winning team that you can take to the finals. Still, teams need some leadership and strategy which is what you're about to bring to the drawing board.
How to Play
Toon Cup is a 2D football game about cartoon characters playing against each other using the mouse.
Controls
- W/Up Arrow - Move Up
- S/Down Arrow - Move Down
- A/Left Arrow - Move Left
- D/Right Arrow - Move Right
- Spacebar - Kick/Pass/Tackle
The goal of the game is to score more goals than the opposing team before the timer runs out. The time and score will be shown at the top of the screen. Each team can only have three players and ball possession switches depending on which side score the last goal. You can play a single Quick Match or try to win the cup by winning multiple games in a row in the Tournament. This is also how you can unlock new characters on the main menu.
If you choose a Quick Match, you'll automatically be assigned a random team of three characters, but the Tournament lets you pick your team. Each player has three stats: Speed, Kicking, and Tackling. After you've chosen your players, you'll be taken to the field. You'll always take control of the player closest to the ball, as indicated by a blue highlight ring. You can tackle an opposing player who has the ball to steal it. When you have the ball, you can pass it to a teammate in range or take it to the goal to try and score. To shoot, you need to hold the kick button to power the shot and aim to get it in the blue area for a perfect shot.
There are also gift boxes that will randomly appear on the field that your players can collect. Doing so can have differing effects from stunning the opposing team with thunderbolts to giving one of your players a protective shield.
Tips and Tricks
The key to any good team is balance. Even though some players may be stronger than others, not all of them are flawless. If you pick a player who is strong in one area, pick another player to make up for their weakest area. Do your best to keep track of your teammates and don't linger in one spot otherwise the opposing team will quickly gang up on you.
